A blind date with a book?

Would you dare go on a blind date with a book?  Take a chance - cover unseen, jacket unread, reviews unvalidated?  Without even knowing the title or name of the author?  If you are longing for a little adventure, step outside your comfort zone and go to  your public library.  Let them hook you up!  


Across the room, it caught my eye, dressed for a party.  No name, no Good Reads recommendation, no enticing art work.
Just a coy little teaser on front.
It was awkward at first.  I don't want to rush into things.   We should at least have a drink and candlelight supper before unwrapping.
I mean I don't if we will have anything in common.

    I am Definitely calling my Librarian today and setting up a Blind Date with a Book! This will make reading even more fun!!

    Your Comment 'had me' at 'Book!' Blind Date with a Book would be quite the challenge for me since I am very particular about the books that I do 'not' read; but I decided to take it on.
    Alas and..yes alack. I called the towne's local librarian, and shakily asked to participate in the Dating program. She informed me that was 'last year,'..not this year. By then, I was really getting into the 'idea' and asked if they could wrap a book for me and put it in an Easter Basket that I would bring in. I am so sorry to report that her answer was, 'No.' What to do now?? :-(
